IEEE 802.16 Session #63.5
IEEE 802.16's Session #63.5 took place on 21-24 September 2009 at the Hilton Waikoloa Village in Waikoloa on the Kona Coast of the Big Island of Hawaii, USA. The session was co-located with sessions of other IEEE 802 wireless-oriented WGs and TAGs. This was an Interim Session of the Working Group.
This exceptional session - a second full WG Interim Session between two Plenary Sessions - was arranged in order to address the following:
- The 802.18 TAG is meeting at this session and will be finalizing its agreement on 802.16's IMT-Advanced proposal, so coordination with the Working Group is critical.
- Because the 802.18 TAG set a deadline for draft IMT-Advanced proposals to be submitted by 4 September, 802.16's Session #63 was scheduled to begin on 31 August, far earlier than a normal 802.16 Interim Session. This allowed for the opportunity to make good use of a second WG session.
- The additional session will provide TGm an additional opportunity to progress its work and remain current with its workplan. See the revised draft TGm agenda for Session #63.5.
The attendance list includes 147 names. For full details of the activities, see the Session #63.5 Report.
